"Forest School allows me to be me. I feel more relaxed and more myself when I am here because there’s no pressure. I prefer it to technology because there’s always something to do like cooking, chopping wood and games. I can take instruction but I am free to choose what I want to do. Learning outside is fun because it is practical and I am able to listen and learn more than when I am in school reading a book. I get on really well with my Mentor and everyone else up here which makes me feel that I can make positive friendships."

'1-2-1 Mentors have provided a high quality service to students at our school. The mentors go above and beyond in their mission to support and guide young people who may be struggling in one way or another. The work in sessions allows students to explore reasons behind their difficulty and equip them with mechanisms and strategies to move things forwards. Our students love the opportunity to work with 1-2-1 Mentors; not only do they enjoy the work, we see significant impact towards the outcomes we set at the beginning of a mentoring block of time. We would without reservation recommend the services of 1-2-1 Mentors.’

'Over the past two years we have worked closely with Charmaine Dugdale and her team at 1:2:1 Mentors. During this time, I have found them to be professional in every way. We meet regularly to review students, catch up on any concerns and weekly reports are always very informative, with individual mentors liaising with parents if needs be. All of the Mentors with whom we have worked, get to know the students well and build up good relationships with them and their families. The students with whom they have worked have shown evidence of raised self-esteem and self-confidence as well as building up vital independence skills. I would thoroughly recommend the service.'
